A lot of this week's events are happening before the weekend, and in fact in a matter of hours, so be decisive!

4:30pm today: The Olympics homecoming parade happens right here in Manchester! The athletes from the Olympics and Paralympcs- the young men and women who gave us our must successful ever away Olympics- are taking a tour of our city. The parade is due to start at 16:30 at the Museum of Science and Industry before heading down Deansgate. I'll there, typically camera-in-hand.

Later tonight I'm running a meetup to Chitchat at Lola Lo. Now the students have returned, so has Manchester's midweek nightlife. I went to this last year in spring and it was a great night. Get involved!

Tuesday: Manchester Social Group shuts down. Today's your last chance to save it!

Thursday: Oldham residents are probably aware that The Old Town Hall, which has been in disrepair since the 1990s, is due to reopen with a cinema and a number of restaurants. The official opening is 6pm this Thursday 20th, being then opened to the public on Friday. Again, I'll be there doing a bit of hack work.

Are you looking for motivation? Do you want to get something done, but lack the support to do so? (Like, run a blog for 8 years and not action the plans that could make it much bigger? Cough) New meetup group Get it Done aims to provide mutual mentoring so we can achieve our goals as if they were targets to hit (which they are). It looks like exactly the kind of thing I've been looking for for ages.

Send me your tips!
