TBT: John Lennon and The Dakota Building
Beatles star John Lennon was "bubbling over with excitement" about returning to the UK in a phone call the night before he was assassinated in New York in 1980, according to a newly released letter by his aunt. Sky News has the details.
8th December last year marked 40 years since Lennon was assassinated on the streets of New York by gunman Mark Chapman.
Back in April 2000, I took a family holiday in New York. I took this shot of The Dakota Building, the site of his murder.
I have lots of fond memories of that holiday, and an album of pictures I mostly haven’t shared online. I may still do.
