Dropped
into a temporary bar in Spinningfields to see in the new year. The Tavern hosted a free party,
attended by this many people:
Great music with some funk and house.
As the M.E.N described, pretty much the whole of Manchester Centre was a
ghost town at new year. People have truly fallen out with going out.
It turned out there was a huge crowd at the end of Deansgate, but not
for the bars- just the midnight firework display.
Of
course, Deansgate Locks had some life to it, and a few hours after
midnight they poured out of the bars.
