Lockdown Reading: Take 4

Well. Yes. Lockdown again. PM Johnson has closed the country for a ‘circuit breaker’ lockdown to combat the spread of COVID-19. Will this ever fucking end? I suspect not. By April, will we all be shellshocked and void of any social skills, scuttling about our lives like that feral boomerang kid off Mad Max 2?

Granted, here in Oldham there has been plenty of that long before COVID-19 reached our shores, but what about those us who at least had some semblance of decorum before isolation sent us batshit?

The word is, this new national lockdown will be put in place until 2nd December- 4 and a half weeks away. But we all know that could be utter bullshit. It’ll be long after that. Whatever the case, I have these books to read.

I’d appreciate it if De Pfeffel Johnson (or more accurately, the Great British Public) would get this over with once and for all, either way.

No flexibility challenge this time. Just straight-up books. I just want to get as much reading done as possible, with as little time spent ruminating over anything else: the incompetent buffoons in government, the bars being shut, the gym being closed, the never-ceasing demands from working in an essential service, the safety of my own family… etc. etc.

Just good quality literature.
