First, see Glasgow: Day 1 and Glasgow: Day 2. And finally… The Riverside Museum is a free building stocked with retro cars, bikes, trains and buses, with the odd emergency vehicle from bygone eras thrown in too. The Victorian street is a quaint inclusion, allowing you to go back in time and visit a shoemaker, a tavern and a few other establishments from over 100 years ago.

Outside of the building, but connected, lies the renovated 126-year-old Tall Ship Glenlee. This is also open to the public, although for a small fee. You can explore the different decks and read up on life on a 19th century sailing vessel, the countries she visited, and the life of the crew on board.
The Riverside and The Glenlee are both huge additions to Glasgow’s museum selection, and midweek is full of school trips, so I doubt there’d be any particular time to go that would be quieter than any other. Fascinating place though. Then it was time to head home. What a brilliant weekend. We certainly packed a lot into the 3 days we were there.
